New year, new plans, new initiatives!

As we ease into 2024, the Baltimore Association of Black Journalists hosts it’s annual State of the Union planning meeting on January 27th 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. At the beginning of each of year, the chapter meets to recaps the previous year of activities and plans out important initiatives and programs for the current year.

This year is also an election year for BABJ. Members will elect candidates that are best suited for the positions which they are running for. Read the details below carefully.

Here are the positions we’ll be voting on:

  • President**
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer**
  • Membership Chair
  • College, Development & Mentorship Chair

**Incumbent intends to re-run, but members are still allowed to run for position.

Elections information: If you would like to run for a position, please email us at babjmd@gmail.com, expressing interest. The deadline to do so is January 24, 2024. At our meeting, each candidate will get 3 minutes to explain to BABJ members why they are the best fit for that position.

Please note: You must be present during the meeting to run for a position. Only BABJ members are allowed to vote for and hold board positions. BABJ positions not filled will be later appointed.
