The Baltimore Association of Black Journalists (BABJ) hosted its November 12, 2020 meeting to discuss journalistic best practices for verifying sources, spotting bots and deep fakes as well as other fraudulent content. BABJ member and C-SPAN host Jesse J. Holland was joined by Heaven Taylor-Wynn from The Poynter Institute’s MediaWise program to discuss verifying digital content.
Due to health concerns surrounding the spread of the COVID-19, BABJ opted for a webinar in an effort to implement social distancing and keep members safe. More than 20 participants signed on for the two hour discussion. Fifteen people were in attendance.
