Earlier this week, we lost a giant in Black media. Earlier this week, we lost a giant in Black media. Everett Marshburn, a veteran award-winning journalist who was very active in NABJ, formerly the Association of Black Media Workers (Baltimore), and NABJ Student Multimedia Projects, where he mentored the next generation of young Black journalists. Everett was passionate about good stories as he loved journalism and spent decades telling stories about Black people, our culture, and how everyday life impacted our communities. He’s a Baltimore man and proud alumnus of Morgan State University. He also worked at Maryland Public Television as well. We want to extend our condolences to family, friends, mentees, and anyone else his dedication and worked touched over the years.

We are saddened by the passing of veteran journali We are saddened by the passing of veteran journalist Stan Saunders. Stan was a well-known and respected journalist in Baltimore. He was a weekend sports anchor at WJZ-TV. He was also an adjunct professor at Towson University and a professor of Media Studies at Johns Hopkins University. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and work.
