WMAR-TV (ABC 2) Multimedia Journalist Pete O’Neal Sr. has been inducted into the Silver Circle of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter.

O’Neal was among six media professionals who were inducted in the Class of 2014 Silver Circle at a Dec. 7 ceremony in Washington, D.C.

The Silver Circle honors media professionals with 25 or more years of significant contributions to the broadcast or cable industry around the region.

According to a biography from the academy, “Pete on the Street” is a multiple Emmy Award winning techie who has been a fixture on the Baltimore news scene for more than 30 years.  O’Neal has worked with noted directors Barry Levinson and Bruce Paltrow.

O’Neal, an alumnus of Morgan State University, is also a member of the Baltimore Association of Black Journalists’ inaugural mentor program.  He is now among 228 Silver Circle inductees.
