‘Tis the season for layoffs and job cuts in an effort to balance company budgets. But these changes should not catch professionals off guard.  Multimedia Journalist Benet Wilson will show the Baltimore Association of Black Journalists various ways to prepare for the worst-case scenarios after a layoff at its next meeting; Saturday, October 25.

Wilson will discuss the need to create online portfolios, how to maintain your brand, how to anticipate the cuts and – most importantly – how to walk away without tarnishing your career and reputation.

It’s a tough conversation, but it’s better to be prepared for a potential job elimination than scuffling to “make it work” after an unexpected surprise.

The meeting will take place at The Baltimore Sun, 501 N. Calvert Street, and will start at noon.
